We would like to congratulate Elizabeth and Will . They are this year’s essay winners. Each received a cash prize and their essay will go on in a state competition.
The Garrett American Legion presented a flag education program to the 4th grade students. Each student wrote an essay on what the flag means to them.
February Virtue Award
Recipients Miriam Speer– Living the Virtue of Patience. Miriam is always patient with her teachers and friends. She always waits her turn and does so with a smile. Lennon Hoeffel-Living the Virtue of Cheerfulness. Lennon sees the good in every situation and always looks on the bright side. She sees the good in others and gives compliments to her classmates. She is always smiling and loves to hug her teachers. Elizabeth Buchs-Living the Virtue of Cheerfulness. Lizzie always looks on the bright side of life! She never complains and is always willing to perform all activities with a cheerful spirit. Edward Gowgiel-Living the Virtue of Cheerfulness. Eddie always displays a positive attitude. He never complains and completes all tasks, great or small with a Christ-like behavior.

Living the virtue of Studiousness. Sydney always goes above and beyond when working in class, at home, and when preparing for tests. She does it all with a smile.Living the virtue of Patience. Lydia is always patient with her classmates and teachers. She always waits patiently without complaining.Living the virtue of Fidelity. Kaitlin is always faithful to commitments.Living the virtue of Studiousness. Sully has the desire to seek knowledge to grow closer to God.
